Guilain Joncheray's event @ Power House

Amniotic Reaction event will finally be held in the amazing Powerhouse Arena bookstore in Brooklyn.
This unusual place is located in the trendy Dumbo distrit. Far from being a simple store, Powerhouse Arena is a real cultural institution which tries to promote literature, culture through a wild range of initiatives. Hosting some artists is one of those. With his 22 foot-ceiling over the 5,000-sq ft ground floor, Powerhouse is a stunning venue to receive Guilain Joncheray's event. The artist himself will settle his 9 pieces in a way to create a poetic walk trough the space, the images and the music... Letting people mooving and discovering each piece its sensibility, its message, its artistic particularity through an original ballad.

Guilain Joncheray on Environmentalism...

In French "sea" and "mother" are phonetically identical. But the similarity between these two words is not only auditory but symbolic: these are two things which gave birth to humanity...
My musical universe expressed by this new record offers its environmental stance.
For me Environmentalism will succeed if the young generations are educated and transmit their knowledge to their children.
Imagine Environmentalism as a full academic discipline...Why are too many parents still careless and not teaching their children how to help our planet, our oceans with small and simple actions?
I ask to all politicians to continue writing their notes on this music score!
I congratulate all associations, NGO's and other groups that fight daily for our seas' survival!
And I ask you not to forget that Water is Life (as the Tuareg proverb says: "Amane Imane")

The Event...

This event aims to present the new artistic creation of Guilain Joncheray in an international atmosphere, crossing the ocean just as the piece itself explores the universal language of the sea.

This ultrahip, special event targeting TV & press, online media, NYC tastemakers and Art professionals will be held on July 2007, from 6.30 PM to 9.30 PM, in collaboration with the artist Guilain Joncheray, luxury corporate sponsors, and the NYC contemporary arts and tastemakers communities. A nine multimedia piece installation will be exhibited in a gallery. The place will be announced soon...

The Guests: Cherif Mbaw

Chérif Mbaw is a talented Senegalese artist. Singer-song-writer and guitarist, Chérif Mbaw has worked with Youssou N'dour, opened for the Malian couple Amadou & Mariam and Tracy Chapman for their European tours.

The Guests: Alexis Vassiliev

Russian counter-tenor Alexis Vassiliev is something of a vocal phenomenon. Blessed with a voice whose glorious mezzo timbre resembles that of the castrati, he sings with a completely natural expressiveness and intensity. Winner of numerous national and international awards, Alexis Vassiliev is considered to be one of the finest counter-tenors in the world.

The Guests: Peter Kingsbery

Peter Kingsbery is an American singer songwriter who cofounded the worlwide popular band Cock Robin in the 80s. After the band split up in the early 90s, he went on a solo career, releasing 4 albums over a decade.
